Who died on Love After Lockup? The WEtv show follows inmates getting out of prison and the romantic partners they met while imprisoned.

With 43 convicts and 46 lovers, across Love After Lockup‘s four seasons and spinoffs like Life After Lockup. That’s a lot of potential death and tragedy. Particularly considering that some of the parolees were violent offenders, and many were drug addicts.

So, who passed away from LAL?

Who Died on Love After Lockup? Alla Subotina from Season 1

From season 1, Alla Subotina was with James Cristia on the debut season of Love After Lockup. She was introduced to heroin by a boyfriend while working as a model.

James met Alla on a pen-pal service while she served a five-year term for dealing heroin. The prison system released her from Taycheedad Correctional Institution near Milwaukee, Wisconsin in July 2017.

Her parents, Dmitry Subbotin and Yelena Subbotin were happy she’d met a nice man. But then, during the filming of the WEtv show, Alla Subotina relapsed and James found her passed out on the bathroom floor.

Alla Subotina sought treatment in rehab and then the state revoked her parole six weeks after the cameras went away. In November 2018, during a Love After Lockup special, it came out that Alla was still in prison.

Later, he posted that he was a “bad partner” and let her down, not supporting her while she “was in pain”. On July 8, 2021, Alla got out of prison again. But it didn’t take long for her to turn back to drugs. A month later, she was dead.

According to her obituary on EchoVita.com, she was 31.

at the age of 31. Her mother, Yelena wrote of her passing: “Sadly, addiction won today. My beloved daughter, Alla passed away earlier today. I’m beyond sadden [sic] by this and hoping she is in a better place. Addiction is an ugly disease and my daughter had been battling addiction for many years.”

Scott Davey Passes Away

The second death from Love After Lockup was not one of the former inmates, but one of their romantic partners. Also from Season 1, Scott Davey was in a romance with Lizzie Kommes, who’d been in prison for eight years.

They met on MeetAnInmate.com and it came out that he’d sent her tens of thousands of dollars over the years. Once Lizzie was out, she and Scott Davey had problems from the jump. Although Lizzie accepted a ring, she broke off the engagement during a spat.

The duo continued their bickering on the follow-up show Life After Lockup. In one scene, Lizzie and his friend Shirleen pushed him to take a home drug test after Lizzie’s test came back clean. Then, Scott confessed to battling addiction.

After knee surgery, Scott Davey revealed he’d gotten hooked on Vicodin. And on the Love After Lockup spinoff, he also admitted to using methamphetamine and heroin. In fact, Scott himself had done time in federal prison.

Not long after filming a Dating an Inmate special for WEtv, Scott passed away. According to his obituary reported on Legacy.com, he was just 54. No cause of death was reported, but he admitted to relapsing a few times when stressed out. Scott Davey was born on September 30, 1967, and died on November 12, 2021.

Tracie Wagaman from Love After Lockup Dies

The third death from the cast of Love After Lockup was also linked to drugs. In Season 2, we met Tracie Wagaman and Clint Brady who married within hours of her prison release. It was a matter of days before she was back in prison after falling back to addiction.

She and Clint (himself a former inmate) met on the Meet an Inmate website. Tracie was called “goddess” by her husband Clint and he stuck by her as she served another term and was again released into his waiting arms.

But things spiraled and they were on and off as she struggled with addiction. Tracie split from Clint for good and they went their separate ways. He met a new love and she moved to Las Vegas and began making bank on OnlyF**s.

She briefly dated Matt Baier (ex of Teen Mom‘s Amber Portwood). The Love After Lockup star then met Luke Loera, himself an ex-con, who was 10 years her junior. When she turned up pregnant, Tracie Wagaman confirmed it was Luke’s baby, not Matt’s.

After a lengthy separation, the court finalized Tracie and Clint’s divorce on June 17, 2021. Then, a week later on June 25, 2021, Tracie Wagaman gave birth to her second child, a daughter, via c-section at 37 weeks.

She spent three days in the hospital because of the surgery. That would set her release date at about June 28. Within four days, Tracie was dead of an accidental overdose of methamphetamine.

Tracie Wagaman was born on May 24, 1980, and died on July 1, 2021.

According to the Clark County Office of the Coroner, the medical examiner said her cause of death was methamphetamine toxicity.

She was 41 years old, single, and the mother of two when she died in a Vegas hotel room at 10:54 pm.
